What is Wisdom Tooth Treatment?
Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that typically emerge between the ages of 17 and 25. When there is insufficient space in the jaw, wisdom teeth can become impacted (stuck), grow at an angle, or cause pain, infection, or damage to adjacent teeth.
Dr. Aparna at Yashashree Dental Family Care is experienced in both simple and surgical wisdom tooth extractions, using modern techniques and anaesthesia to make the procedure as comfortable and quick as possible.
Benefits of Wisdom Tooth Treatment
- ✅ Relieves pain from impacted wisdom teeth
- ✅ Prevents infection and spreading decay
- ✅ Protects adjacent teeth from damage
- ✅ Prevents crowding of existing teeth
- ✅ Quick recovery with proper aftercare
- ✅ Expert surgical extraction for complex cases
The Treatment Process
X-Ray & Assessment
Dental X-rays (OPG) are taken to assess the position, angle, and root structure of the wisdom tooth before planning the removal.
Anaesthesia
Local anaesthesia is administered around the tooth to completely numb the area. You remain awake but feel no pain.
Extraction
For simple cases, the tooth is loosened and removed. For impacted teeth, a small incision in the gum may be required followed by careful surgical removal.
Socket Closure
The socket is cleaned, and if needed, dissolvable stitches are placed to help the gum heal properly.
Recovery & Aftercare
You receive detailed aftercare instructions covering diet, medication, oral hygiene, and activity restrictions to ensure smooth, fast healing.
